Coffee & Cake Ride
Perhaps you’re a beginner looking for a more moderately paced ride, or you want to rest your legs after a hard Saturday? Welcome to the Coffee & Cake Ride, an easy-paced social ride at below C Ride pace giving the opportunity to take in the scenery and chat with fellow riders. Each ride stops at a local coffee shop where you can enjoy a coffee (or tea) & cake.
Start: Sundays 9:00am once per month at the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, rolling at 9:10am. New riders welcome!
Pace: Casual and no-drop; rides are typically 2-3 hours (including coffee stop), about 30 miles in length with around 2000ft of climbing

Coffee & Cake Ride Saturday August 31 - Above Category Bike Show
This is a special edition of the Coffee & Cake ride, with a different starting time (Saturday) and location (San Francisco). The final destination will be the Above Category Invitational in Sausalito, where you can drool over high-end bikes & components and their makers. If you’ve ever wanted to see a Sarto/Baum/Prova/Bastion/Pinarello/Mosaic/Scarab/English/No.22/Factor in the flesh, this is your chance.
This ride will be at a “Coffee & Cake” pace and will feature stops at one of my favorite Bay Area coffee roasters: Equator Coffee. We’ll head over the Golden Gate Bridge into the scenic Marin Headlands and ride to downtown Mill Valley for a mid-ride stop at Equator. After climbing the foothills of Mt Tam, we’ll descend back down to Sausalito, where the ride will end at another Equator — only a block away from Above Category. Once you’re done checking out the bike show, you can continue riding in Marin (Mt Tam? Paradise Loop?) or return back to the ride start.
Notes about parking: Free parking is available at Crissy Field. There are also parking lots at this location on the western side of the Golden Gate Bridge. These are generally safe places to park but exercise caution by not leaving valuables in your car. If you’re uncomfortable parking in SF and/or want to skip the bridge, you could park at Mike’s Bikes in Sausalito and meet up with the group on the Marin side of the bridge.
Time: gather at 9am, rolling by 9:10am
Start: In front of the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center
