Email List Rules
Messages must be cycling-related.
Messages must respect other members. You may not harass, flame, insult, taunt, or otherwise disrespect any other person.
Only active Alto Velo members may use the email list to sell items.
The email list may not be used to advertise products or services even if they’re bike-related. Use your common sense in applying this rule. Discussing your experiences with a bike you’ve recently bought is acceptable. Emailing thousands of people with a product announcement from a friend’s nutrition startup isn’t.
Exception: the email list may be used by or in support of Alto Velo sponsors and their products or services.
Exception: businesses part of the Business Directory may use this email list to advertise their products or services.
Exception: you may use this email list to advertise rides or other cycling-related events that you are attending as long as the ride or event is of general interest to the community. Again, please use common sense before emailing thousands of people.
Respect our sponsors. Alto Velo is able to provide programs and services to club members and the cycling community based on the support of our sponsors. Don’t criticize or complain about our sponsors’ products using this email list. The Board of Directors is happy to receive feedback on and constructive criticism of sponsored products - please email us privately. If you have had good experiences with a sponsored product, feel free to share it with the community.
Please contact the relevant club officer rather than emailing the entire list. A full list of contact information (clothing, bike boxes, ride details, etc.) can be found here: https://www.altovelo.org/contacts.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in a suspension of posting privileges.
